* This is a reconstruction of Janáček’s String Quartet No. 1 “Kreutzer Sonata.”
Based on historical evidence that the work was first conceived as a piano trio, this version was prepared with the approval of the original publisher.

** Exploring the boundary between music and the movement that causes it, De Mey’s Musique de tables refers to the historical form, tafelmusik, its structure essentially that of a baroque suite — but for fists,  fingertips, knuckles, and nails.  Composed for three performers, each seated at a small table that serves as a musical instrument, the piece calls for a diversity of tones to be produced by the performers striking the tables in different ways.  There are some modest technical requirements that must be met to present this work.
