Beethoven Cycle
The Peabody Trio is pleased to offer the complete cycle of Beethoven trios in three concerts.  The performances may be concentrated in a 24-hour period (evening-matinee-evening) a weekend, or a week, or spread through the season.  In addition to the piano trios from Opp. 1, 70, and 97, the “Kakadu” Variations, and the composer’s version for piano trio of his Op. 11.  Also featured are the sublime Op. 69 cello-piano sonata and the Op. 96 violin-piano sonata, works composed simultaneously with the Opp. 70 and 97 trios.

Gift of the Beloved: Beethoven, Goethe, and the Persian Sufi Master, Hafiz
In collaboration with actress Elizabeth Mansfield.
Goethe’s last great poem, the Divan of West and East, inspired by the Divan of 14th century Sufi master, Hafiz, was among Beethoven’s most beloved verse.  In Gift of the Beloved, the music of Beethoven’s Opus 70 Trios is intertwined with the words of Goethe, in glorious celebration of love, faith, and the joy of life.
