Haydn 200th Memorial Observation
In observation of the 200th
anniversary Franz Josef Haydn’s death (May 31, 1809), the Daedalus
Quartet is pleased to offer performance of what are widely considered
the first masterworks of the string quartet genre, the composer’s Op.
20, the “Sun” quartets from 1772. This program is approximately 120
minutes of music; a long (for example dinner-length) intermission is
suggested.

All-Beethoven Program
This program is the second of the
Slee Beethoven Cycle, a series of annual endowed performances at the
University at Buffalo. The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is
presenting this series as part of its 40th anniversary season (and 50th
of Lincoln Center), featuring each of the first six “Chamber Music
Society 2” string quartets. (Daedalus was the sixth.)
